The Department of Linguistics at Yale University invites applications for a full-time Lector in American Sign Language to begin either on January 1st or on July 1, 2021. The initial appointment will run for three years, and is potentially renewable. The Lector will offer 5 courses in ASL and will be responsible for the continued development of the ASL curriculum.
The successful applicant will have completed an MA, PhD or equivalent degree in ASL, linguistics, applied linguistics, Sign Language Education, or a related field, will have experience in teaching ASL in an academic setting, will have native or near-native proficiency in ASL, and will have excellent command of written English. ASLTA Certification desirable, but not necessary.
