Participants will spend two weeks living with Costa Rican families, attending classes, and visiting sites of cultural and historical significance. Classes consist of advanced Spanish language study and a pedagogy course at Universidad Veritas in San José, Costa Rica.
Participants have the option to earn three or six credits at the graduate level from SUNY Cortland. Three credits are earned during the in-country component in San José. An additional three credits are possible after returning to the U.S. upon satisfactory completion of the second half of the course, conducted via the internet using Blackboard.
