Dear colleagues and friends,
I am pleased to invite you to a workshop that I'll be leading on Saturday, October 20th. The title of the workshop is SMART Interactive Tools and Apps in World Languages and Beyond. During this workshop, I will demonstrate sample lessons from a world language classroom that integrate interactive instruction using SMART Notebook, iPad apps, and Google Forms. These tools can be adapted for many subjects and learning environments and accommodate a wide range of ages. In addition, attendees will have time to develop their own materials to use in their classrooms. Please, feel free to spread the word and invite other colleagues.
The workshop is presented as a part of Teach21, a full day of professional development hosted at The School at Columbia University (TSC) in New York. Faculty from TSC have created innovative workshops that come directly from the classrooms: PD for teachers, by teachers. This workshop runs from 9:00 to 3:00 pm. Lunch is included for all participants.
Scholarships are available for teachers from public schools. When registering for a workshop. Indicate 'Pay by Check' on the payment page, and don’t worry you will attend for free, but please contact Teach21 director Rachel Klem (rklem@theschool.columbia.edu) directly to inquire about this opportunity. In addition, certificates are available upon request to acknowledge the completion of professional development hour. If you aren’t available to come, please pass the word and tell your colleagues about it!
I look forward to hosting you at TSC on October 20th! You can register for my workshops here teach21.theschool.columbia.edu/workshop/interactive-tools-and-apps-world-languages-and-beyond-full-day
